Higher education presents essential growth possibilities for students, but Black students disproportionately experience barriers that affect enrollment and degree completion. Recent reports indicate a declining trend in Black student enrollment since 2019. While Black students account for 10% of undergraduates, financial burdens and racial discrimination contribute to lower graduation rates compared to their peers. Despite these challenges, many believe in the long-term value of a college degree. Strategic measures, including improving high school partnerships, are recommended to enhance the experiences and outcomes for Black students in higher education.
