Bill Ackman, an alum who led the effort to oust former Harvard president Claudine Gay, has funded Francesca Gino's discrimination and breach-of-contract lawsuit against Harvard since June 2024 and pledged continued support until she clears her name. Francesca Gino, a former Harvard Business School professor and dishonesty researcher, was accused of research misconduct in 2021 and had her tenure revoked last May. Gino maintains her innocence and in a court filing accused a Harvard dean of lying and argued the university's findings were based on "mere speculation." The lawsuit, first filed in 2023, is headed to trial in December.
