Harvard Kennedy School announced a contingency plan for its international students due to potential actions from the Trump administration that may restrict foreign student enrollment. This plan allows for remote study and offers a pathway for returning students to complete their degrees at the University of Toronto, contingent upon sufficient interest. With 59% of HKS students being international, the school aims to alleviate student uncertainties while navigating legal battles against the administration's policies. The contingency plan reflects HKS's proactive approach and the necessity for approval from accreditation bodies for implementation.
The Kennedy School is the first college at the university to release its formal contingency plan; others are working on developing their own.
We are announcing these contingency plans now to alleviate the uncertainty many students feel, but we will not officially launch these programs unless there is sufficient demand from students who are unable to come to the United States.
