""The world feels bleak most of the time, but every single morning at the intersection, I'm bowled over by beautiful moments,""
""A beautiful cloud, migrating geese in a V-formation overhead, a doe-eyed pitbull in a knitted sweater.""
""I didn't want it to feel precious; I want it to be a direct mail piece, to feel like a newsletter that might come from a neighbourhood association or hiking club, so that's why it's mailed naked instead of in an envelope,""
""The whole project is about embracing the analog and physical, so I'm turning toward analog materials for The Cloud Report. I make illustrations and textures with watercolour,""
Christine Tyler Hill works as a crossing guard in Burlington, Vermont and produces The Cloud Report, a printed monthly mini-zine capturing observations from the intersection and beyond. The project records small moments of wonder—sky colors, migrating geese, children singing, and dogs in sweaters—and shares them via Instagram stories alongside a paper newsletter. The Cloud Report is eight pages, printed in two colours on 67lb cream cardstock, saddle-stitched, sealed with translucent stickers, and mailed without an envelope to feel like direct neighborhood mail. Christine learned Risograph printing at Outlet PDX, completed a residency at Directangle Press, and favors watercolor illustrations and analog textures.
