Warriors' Curry out 3rd straight game with illness
"He was ruled out two hours prior to their Sunday night home matchup with the Indiana Pacers. Curry came down with the illness after their recent road trip to Indianapolis and Milwaukee. He played through it in a Tuesday night home win over the Phoenix Suns, but said his gas tank was on empty in the second half. Curry stayed home during the Warriors' two road losses in Sacramento and Denver."
"After four days of rest, Curry was initially deemed questionable for the Pacers game but Warriors coach Steve Kerr said pregame that the medical staff is opting to take the cautious approach and deemed him out. Curry will get a workout in on the practice court Sunday night and again on Monday morning, Kerr said. If Curry responds well, Kerr said there's hope he can return on Tuesday night in Oklahoma City for the first game of a five-city, six-game road trip."
Stephen Curry will miss a third straight Golden State Warriors game because of an illness that began after a road trip to Indianapolis and Milwaukee. Curry played through the illness in a home win over the Phoenix Suns but was depleted in the second half and missed subsequent road games in Sacramento and Denver. After four days of rest the medical staff declared him out before the Pacers matchup; coach Steve Kerr described the approach as cautious. Curry will take workouts Sunday night and Monday morning and could return Tuesday in Oklahoma City if he responds well. The Warriors fell to 5-5 and have lost eight straight games including the playoffs without Curry; the Pacers entered the game shorthanded with Pascal Siakam among those out and sat at 1-8.
