Seth Curry explains why the time was right to join Warriors, older brother Steph
"For years, a younger brother had balked at his older sibling's dream. As he embarked upon his Hall of Fame career, Steph Curry had always wanted to team up with Seth, two years his junior. And for the better part of a decade, Seth, 35, had pushed back. I've said a few times in the past that I don't want to be on the same team, that I want to create my own path, Seth Curry said during his introductory press conference on Thursday afternoon,"
"But as their careers wind down, he could no longer pass up the opportunity. And aside from just the two brothers, the entire extended Curry family was thrilled by the development. Well, maybe everybody but former NBA guard Dell Curry. Instead of watching multiple games, it should be easier to watch just one game, Seth Curry said. Everybody's excited about it, except maybe my dad, who didn't want to see me leave Charlotte."
Seth Curry agreed to join the Golden State Warriors on a minimum contract, becoming the team's third and final free-agent signing after Al Horford and De'Anthony Melton. Steph Curry had long wanted to team up with his younger brother, and Seth previously resisted that idea but accepted as their careers progressed. Seth, 35, led the NBA last season with 45.6% three-point accuracy in 68 games for the Charlotte Hornets. Over an 11-year career he has shot 43.3% from three, averaged exactly 10 points per game, and recorded eight seasons with at least 40% three-point shooting. Coach Steve Kerr called him one of the best shooters who will help the team win games. Seth's father, Dell, was reluctant to see him leave Charlotte.
