The Madrone Art Bar experienced an unusual theft on Saturday night when three men in Golden State Warriors apparel stole a valuable sketch by local artist Tracie Timmer. Security footage captured the men entering the bar, purchasing drinks, and later removing the artwork from the wall, an impulsive act likely influenced by their intoxication after the Warriors game. Bar owner Michael 'Spike' Krouse noted that such thefts are rare but highlighted the importance of security cameras and personal accountability in such situations.
On Saturday night, a sketch hanging on the wall of Madrone Art Bar went missing. The bar's security camera footage shows three men in Warriors gear entering the bar, buying a drink and, around midnight, removing the framed artwork from the wall.
'It's not something that happens very often,' Michael 'Spike' Krouse, owner of Madrone Art Bar, told SFGATE of the theft. He guessed that the men were likely drunk after watching the Warriors game, and made an impulsive decision to steal the sketch.
'People gotta realize, there's cameras everywhere,' Krouse said. 'Nothing you do can't be seen. Just because you're drunk doesn't mean you get to act like an idiot.'
