At 03:40 CET a suspected arson attack targeted the home of Brandenburg's antisemitism commissioner Andreas Buttner in Templin while his family was inside. Police and firefighters responded and no physical injuries were reported. A red triangle, described as an anti-constitutional symbol linked to Hamas, was found painted near a neighboring house entrance. Buttner described the act as hate and intimidation and said he would not be intimidated. This follows a previous incident in August 2024 when his car was scratched with swastikas. State politicians expressed solidarity and pledged continued support while investigations proceed.
