"Up to 21,000 residents were required to leave their homes ahead of the defusal, with all roads within a radius of 800 meters (875 yards) of the bomb closed to traffic. The city said the evacuation operation was the largest even conducted by Nuremberg in such a case. Up to 21,000 residents evacuated within an 800-meter radius, in the largest evacuation of its kind in Nuremberg, after the 450-kilogram device was discovered during construction. Cologne’s main railway station is out of action for ten days due to construction work.
