Berlin's newest panda twins, Leni and Lotti, celebrate their 1st birthday
Briefly

The Independent covers issues from reproductive rights to climate change and Big Tech, sending reporters to develop stories and investigate matters like Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC. The Independent produces documentaries such as 'The A Word' about American women fighting for reproductive rights and emphasizes parsing facts from messaging. Donations allow continued deployment of journalists to speak to both sides, and the outlet remains accessible without paywalls, funded by those who can afford it. Berlin's newest panda twins, born Aug. 22 last year and named Meng Hao and Meng Tian (Leni and Lotti), celebrated their first birthday with frozen vegetable treats and ice marbles, now weighing about 21 kilos each and showing distinct personalities.
