As Holocaust survivors continue to vanish, one of the oldest in Miami shares her story
Briefly

Lucy Lowell, at 103, represents one of the last living Holocaust survivors, with only 1,400 survivors over 100 alive today. As time passes, many survivors are disappearing rapidly; projections indicate that within six years, half will be gone. This swift decline highlights the urgency of documenting their testimonies before they are lost. Lowell, who survived Auschwitz, reflects on her past and acknowledges her struggle to share her experiences. Notably, Malka Schmulovitz, another survivor in Florida, stresses the necessity of preserving these stories for future generations to remember the horrors of the Holocaust.
"Our survivors are leaving us and this is the moment to hear their voices," said Gideon Taylor, president of the Claims Conference.
To be one of the oldest survivors alive right now at my age tells me we are running out of time," Malka Schmulovitz remarked.
