"Thomas is in the late autumn of his career; everyone calls it quits at some point. It's incredible how many kilometers he's clocked up. FC Bayern must have given it a lot of thought. There are so many smart people working at the club and they know that such a deserving player should be integrated into the sporting management as soon as possible."
"Precisely because he's a true Bavarian, an icon, a gem. Because he is smart and intelligent, he can lead people and connect them. But the role of an official also has to be learned first," said Heynckes. "Thomas has a managerial profile, hardworking, clever. He understands so much about football and gives intelligent answers."
Bayern Munich rejected Juventus's late loan interest in Sacha Boey despite Juventus seeking a right-back option in the transfer window's final hours. Bayern paid a high fee for Boey in 2024 and the player's performances have been subpar. Konrad Laimer has been deployed at right-back, Josip Stanišić is expected to resume the role when Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Itō regain fitness, and Boey faces limited playing time unless injuries occur. Bayern will eventually need to assess whether to cut losses on the signing. Jupp Heynckes praised Thomas Müller and recommended integrating him into Bayern's sporting management.
