The upcoming television series will explore the intense rivalry between Adolf "Adi" Dassler and his brother Rudolf "Rudi", which launched Adidas and Puma in the 1940s. Produced by No Fat Ego, the project has access to Dassler family archives. Scripted by Mark Williams, known for "Ozark", the series aims to reveal the lesser-known facets of their bitter feud, particularly their divided loyalties during World War II. It will highlight the brothers' contrasting paths and its lasting impact on Herzogenaurach, their hometown, set against a backdrop reminiscent of "Succession".
The series promises to be a "Succession-type drama between the family" set over several generations, Williams explained, comparing it to the earlier hit HBO series.
Scriptwriter Mark Williams, behind the hit Netflix series "Ozark", has been hired to lead the project and is currently going through Dassler family home videos and memorabilia to work on the story.
