This Pokemon Pokopia Trick Would Have Saved Me So Much Time
"At first, when you plant beans, tomatoes, or any other crop, it appears as if you have to pick each individual vegetable off the stem by hand. This isn't difficult, but it certainly takes a lot of time, especially if you've got a whole garden to pick. But it turns out you can use Cut to slice through entire patches of a garden, leaving the vegetables themselves unharmed and loose for you to hold down Y and suck them up, Kirby style."
"Early on in your first terraformed zone, you'll meet Scyther, who will teach you how to use the move Cut. This is used to cut through debris and even cut down trees in its powered-up form. I had assumed that using this on materials would just destroy them or break them down, so I was scared to use it on anything that I actually wanted to keep and use."
Pokémon Pokopia streamlines life sim and town builder mechanics effectively, but crop harvesting remained tedious despite this design philosophy. Early in the game, Scyther teaches the Cut move, which players typically assume destroys materials. However, Cut can be used on entire garden patches to loosen vegetables without damaging them, allowing rapid collection by holding Y. This method reduces harvest time from several minutes to seconds. The game does not clearly communicate this mechanic, leaving many players unaware of the efficient harvesting technique until discovering it independently after significant playtime.
