"Revealed during today's PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, SOL Shogunate takes place in a future where humanity colonized the solar system and has culturally adopted the Japanese feudal system and culture. Like the best samurai tales, the game is a revenge quest centering on Yuzuki, the once-heir to a powerful Tennoji samurai clan that was wiped out by the rival Karasuma Clan."
"It's the gateway to the solar system. It's been developed for around 150 years. So we have these large, rotating cities called lunar glasses that are built inside of a lunar crater. And essentially, these cities allow people to have simulated gravity, allow them to have biomes that are fully explorable."
SOL Shogunate is an action RPG set on a developed Moon where humanity adopted Japanese feudal culture across the solar system. The narrative follows Yuzuki, former heir of the Tennoji samurai clan, on a revenge quest against the rival Karasuma Clan as an outlaw ronin. Gameplay spans glass-domed, rotating lunar cities and the lunar surface, with each city inspired by different eras of Japanese history and featuring simulated gravity and explorable biomes. Influences include Metal Gear Rising, Final Fantasy XVI, Dune, Man in the High Castle, Attack on Titan, Knights of Sidonia, and a strong emphasis on musical inspiration. The developers bring industry experience from series like Metal Gear and Castlevania.
