Pokémon Legends: Z-A moves the Legends formula to modern-day Lumiose City in the Kalos Region, set after the events of Pokémon X & Y. Lumiose undergoes an urban redevelopment led by Quasartico Inc to create shared environments where people and Pokémon can cohabitate, including designated Wild Zones. The player arrives as a newcomer and begins gameplay in one of those Wild Zones. An early cutscene shows the player exiting a train and being noticed by someone filming city content before a video ad from Quasartico CEO Jett interrupts. Guided tours of city gameplay loops raised anticipation for the game’s late-2025 release.
