The latest update for Infinity Nikki, labeled Version 1.5 'Bubble Season', faced backlash from players right after its April 29 release and coincided with the game launching on Steam. Users reported numerous bugs, crashes, and concerns over aggressive monetization strategies and changes to the storyline. Spurred by overwhelming negative feedback reflected in Steam reviews, Infold Games issued a public apology, committed to fixing these issues, and postponed the next version to provide adequate time for resolution. The current update will now run until June 12, with players set to receive in-game currency as compensation.
"Insufficient preparation during pre-release testing led to unexpected live issues, resulting in an unstable game environment and unsatisfactory content," the post reads.
"We fully acknowledge that this is our responsibility, and addressing these shortcomings remains a top priority for our team moving forward."
"The Threads of Reunion storyline's absence in this version was never intended as a removal from Infinity Nikki's narrative but rather a re-evaluation of our content delivery strategy."
