"Our cartoon caption was lost in a blizzard! Solve the clues to help us find it. Each answer is seven letters long and curls around one of the numbered spaces in the grid, as shown below: The numbered space will always contain either the first letter or the last letter of an answer. The remaining letters will curl either clockwise or counterclockwise, exiting or entering the central hexagon through the gap in the bolded border."

Each answer has four possible arrangements, as shown with the answer CURLING below:"
Seven-letter answers occupy curved paths that curl clockwise or counterclockwise around a central hexagon. Each numbered space contains either the first or last letter of its seven-letter answer; the other letters follow a continuous curl that enters or exits the central hexagon through the bolded gap. Each answer can be arranged in four ways: starting or ending in the numbered cell and curling in either direction. One answer (CURLING) is preplaced. The top and bottom rows of the grid are identical. The letters in the numbered spaces ultimately spell the missing cartoon caption.
