Saint Mary's led 38-34 at halftime, with Paulius Murauskas scoring 15 and Joshua Dent leading the Gaels with 16. Saint Mary's hit 15 of 16 free throws in the first half and briefly rallied behind a 9-0 run. The game in Spokane was the last WCC meeting there before Gonzaga joins the Pac-12.
