"This is way, way better than I've ever dreamt it."

Bridgeman calmly knocked in the final putt for a one-shot victory over Rory McIlroy and Kurt Kitayama, finishing 18-under 266. The 26-year-old from Clemson became the first player since Adam Scott in 2005 to win Riviera on his debut and earned $4 million while being congratulated by host Tiger Woods. Bridgeman did not make a birdie over the final 15 holes and survived a bunker at 16 by making a five-foot bogey putt. McIlroy closed with a 67 after a bunker-shot birdie on 12 and back-to-back birdies. Several dramatic shots, including a hole-in-one and an eagle, energized the closing stretch.
