Your Gmail just got a useful new tool for tracking online purchases

Google is adding a Purchases tab in Gmail that consolidates all purchase-related emails and package updates into one inbox view. The tab displays order confirmations, shipping and delivery updates, and package tracking for both soon-arriving and later deliveries. The Purchases tab appears in the left pane alongside labels such as Starred, Important, Manage Subscriptions, and Scheduled. The feature begins rolling out to mobile and web users and should appear for accounts shortly after launch. Google is also updating the Promotions tab to allow sorting by most relevant senders and to surface nudges highlighting upcoming deals and offers.
