RAM prices have more than doubled since October 2025 as demand from rapidly expanding AI data centres outstrips supply. The component is used across smartphones, smart TVs, medical devices and virtually all computers, making widespread product cost exposure likely. Manufacturers may absorb minor increases but typically pass large rises to consumers, potentially raising device prices in 2026. Inventory differences mean some RAM vendors show modest increases (about 1.5x–2x) while others face much larger quotes, with reports of prices up to 500% higher in recent months. Continued high prices could reduce consumer demand next year.
