"The company was founded in 2015, and it haltingly developed its launch product through the 2010s, only to scrap it in 2020 when, according to Lizn's history page, the hearing aid/earbud combo idea didn't work out. But the company is seemingly nothing if not persistent, and four years later, a new Lizn was born. The revamped Hearpieces finally made it to US shores in the last couple of weeks."
"Lizn Hearpieces are the company's only product, and their inspiration from the pro audio world is instantly palpable. Out of the box, these look nothing like any other hearing aids on the market, with a bulbous design that, while self-contained within the ear, is far from unobtrusive-particularly if you opt for the graphite or ruby red color scheme. (I received the relatively innocuous sand-hued devices.) At 4.58 grams per bud, they're as heavy as they look;"
Lizn launched in 2015 and iterated a hearing aid/earbud hybrid through the 2010s, scrapping an initial product in 2020 and relaunching a revamped Hearpieces model in 2024 that recently reached the US. The Hearpieces draw from pro audio design and present a bulbous, self-contained in‑ear form available in conspicuous colors. Each bud weighs 4.58 grams and ships with four ear-tip sizes; the medium tips fit by default. The larger body requires a delicate twist so an edge nests behind the tragus and fills the concha. The units lack hardware buttons, relying on tap combinations on the exterior, which can become uncomfortable with repeated taps.
