The Baseus Bowie MC1 clip-on earbuds, now discounted to $50 on Amazon, were subjected to a thorough testing process by an avid runner. Initially skeptical of the clip-on style due to concerns over sweat and slippage, the author was ultimately impressed by Baseus’ budget-friendly product design. However, the sound quality fell flat even after a firmware update, and the Custom EQ feature proved ineffective, leading to a disappointing listening experience that forced the author to settle for stock EQ settings instead.
The MC1 earbuds were connected to my Pixel 9 Pro... I felt the sound lacked depth and dynamics. Everything sounded flat.
I already had the Baseus app installed... the MC1s automatically connected... I tapped the Upgrade button and waited until the process was completed.
When using the Custom EQ option, the volume on the earbuds is dramatically reduced (I had to crank the volume on my phone to 100%).
Disappointed, I decided to go with one of the stock EQ options. The Rock Classic seemed the best choice.
