The HoverAir Aqua Is a Completely Waterproof Drone
"When you think of a drone, you probably think of a small device with propellers in the air above - but according to HoverAir, the next big step in drone technology could take drones out of the air and into the water. The new HoverAir Aqua is the first 100% waterproof drone. The drone is designed to be smart too. It's the second HoverAir drone to be self-flying, and it uses AI to track subjects and automatically capture video."
"So what's the point of its waterproof design? Well, it's not necessarily built to dive underwater, but instead be useful for capturing footage of activities like kayaking, surfing, or paddling. Typical drones would be damaged if they fell into the water, but the Aqua is both designed to be buoyant and has an IP67 water resistance rating to help get around that issue."
The HoverAir Aqua is the first fully waterproof, buoyant drone with an IP67 rating, built to survive falls into water and capture footage of kayaking, surfing, and paddling. The drone is self-flying, uses AI to track subjects, and offers 15 flight modes plus a small onboard display for previewing footage. An optional wearable Lighthouse fob provides takeoff, landing, and recording controls. The camera records 4K video up to 100 fps with HDR and offers 2x digital zoom. Battery life is about 23 minutes. Early-bird pricing on Indiegogo is $999, with more information available at hoverair.com.
