The Honor Magic8 Lite will have an even bigger battery in Latin America
"The Honor Magic8 Lite will follow in the footsteps of the Magic8 Pro - no, that's not a good thing. Honor has confirmed to us that Lite phones sold in Europe will have smaller batteries than those sold in Latin America. This affects weight too. European Magic8 Lite units will have 7,500mAh batteries and will weigh 189g. The ones sold in the Latin America region will have 8,300mAh batteries and will weigh 193g."
"At least there's no third option... for now. The Magic8 Pro for China has a 7,200mAh battery, the global model has a 7,100mAh battery and the EU model has a 6,270mAh battery. By the way, different Pro models also have different charging speeds (120W China, 100W EU/ROW), but this doesn't seem to be the case for the Lite, which will feature 66W wired-only charging globally."
"In our review of the Honor Magic8 Lite, we tested the 7,500mAh variant (EU), which achieved a great result - 18 hours Active Use Score. The Latin America version should last longer. Charging is pretty zippy too, reaching 49% in half an hour and taking 1 hour and 10 minutes for a full charge. If the charge rating is indeed unaffected, the LATAM model should be a bit slower."
Honor will sell Magic8 Lite units with different battery capacities by region: European units have 7,500mAh batteries and weigh 189g, while Latin America units have 8,300mAh batteries and weigh 193g. Magic8 Pro models also differ by region in battery capacity and charging speeds, but the Lite is slated for a single 66W wired charging specification globally. The EU 7,500mAh Lite achieved an 18-hour Active Use Score in testing, reached 49% charge in 30 minutes, and fully charged in 1 hour 10 minutes. A Latin America unit should offer longer runtime but may charge slightly slower. An EU launch is expected in January; Latin America availability is implied.
