The Galaxy S26 Ultra's RAM type revealed
Briefly

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to include 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM, identical to the predecessor, Galaxy S25 Ultra. The capacity remains uncertain, having not changed since the Galaxy S20 Ultra's launch. Although 12GB is generally sufficient for typical smartphone usage, current Android competitors often offer 16GB or more. If the S26 Ultra retains only 12GB, it might appear underpowered in comparison to flagship models from Xiaomi, OnePlus, and other brands, while iPhones continue to utilize 8GB.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra will have 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X RAM, the same type as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It's unclear if the capacity will change as that hasn't been upgraded since the first Galaxy S20 Ultra in 2020.
12GB is more than enough, and it's unlikely that you'll run out of RAM on your phone under normal circumstances. But competing Android flagships have normalized 16 GB of RAM as a base.
If the S26 Ultra will indeed have 12GB, it will look underpowered compared to the likes of the Xiaomi Ultra, the OnePlus 15, Google's Pixel 10 series, and other rivals.
Currently, only the iPhone is still using less than 12GB at 8GB.
