"Good news for who like their watches with a strong design point of view: Indie British watch brand Aera has team up with American designer Todd Snyder on a duo of divers that deliver plenty of vibes alongside rugged functionality. Both of the new timepieces are iterations of Aera's D-1 diver, a modernized take on the iconic tool watch that sold out swiftly when it debuted in 2022 and was recently reintroduced -with a few small-but-mighty improvements-to the brand's catalog."
"The Aera x Todd Snyder D-1 Diver arrives in two tonal colorways, aptly dubbed "Whiteout" and "Blackout." In a statement, Snyder explains that the despite their stark appearance, the Swiss-made watches take their visual cues not from something industrial or man-made, but the extremes of nature. "The Diver's color palette was inspired by an off-road expedition through Icelandic landscapes. 'Blackout' captures the depth of obsidian volcanic sands, while 'Whiteout' reflects the stark, clean profile of glacial waters.""
The Aera x Todd Snyder D-1 Diver appears in Whiteout and Blackout colorways inspired by Icelandic landscapes, with Blackout evoking obsidian sands and Whiteout reflecting glacial waters. The 44mm case uses grade 2 titanium with black or gray DLC and a curved sapphire crystal flowing into a unidirectional ceramic bezel insert. The dial emphasizes legibility with contrasting markers and SuperLuminova that glows green, plus a blaze-orange seconds hand and matching bezel pip. The movement is a Sellita automatic with about 40 hours power reserve. Each version costs $2,898 and is limited to 25 numbered pieces, on sale February 10 at 10am ET.
