If you look around Reddit and elsewhere online, you'll see people asking if they can download games with the screen off, and being confused when people answer no. Some users would dim their screens as low as possible or use other workarounds to download new games without the screen being on."

When attempting to power off during a download, the device prompts to continue downloading with the screen off and will also enter the mode when left idle. Moving the Deck or pressing a button during background downloads reveals a status screen with a progress bar. The feature is currently in beta and preview channels and is expected to roll out widely.
