Sony's PS5 Pro teardown fails to silence the naysayers
Briefly

Sony has taken a bold step by releasing a detailed teardown of the PS5 Pro, showcasing its internal design that includes grooves to prevent liquid metal leakage and enhanced cooling systems. This level of transparency is a stark contrast to many companies that keep product internals secret. The lead designer emphasized the foresight in using liquid metal tech for future advancements in semiconductor density. However, despite the impressive technology, fans express skepticism about the console's high price of $699.99, especially with concurrent increases in subscription services like PS Plus.
Much like the official teardown of the PS5 a few years back, Sony's PS5 Pro teardown is a no-holds-barred tour of the machine's internals, and it's almost surprising to see a company take such glee in revealing the innards of its most prized product.
When we were doing research for the original PS5, we anticipated that semiconductors would continue to advance and become much denser, so we believed liquid metal technology would become crucial. It turns out we were right, and it was integral when designing the PS5 Pro.
