Should you upgrade to Wi-Fi 7? My verdict after testing this next-gen router at home
Briefly

Wi-Fi 7 technology is increasing in adoption, with devices like the Asus RT-B386U router leading the charge. Despite being mid-range, this router offers excellent performance, sitting on a base for upright placement, which enhances its design. It includes LED indicators, a 10G WAN/LAN input, and multiple 2.5G LAN ports for connectivity. With a dedicated 'Gaming Port' to prioritize gaming devices, the router minimizes lag in high-traffic periods. Testing revealed speeds exceeding 500Mbps, demonstrating the router's ability to handle demanding internet activities such as streaming and gaming seamlessly.
On the front, a series of LED lights correspond to various connections. The LEDs are pretty bright, but luckily, the company installed an on/off button on the side.
Lag practically disappears since you won't be fighting for a stable connection. Speaking from experience, this one port can save online matches.
Simply put, it's amazing. Asus' router is crazy fast. For testing, I ran the Ookla Speedtest on my laptop, and it consistently achieved lightning-fast speeds of well over 500Mbps.
Although this isn't a gaming router, it does have a dedicated 'Gaming Port,' which prioritizes connected devices. It is a very useful option to have.
