Sennheiser's new HDB 360 headphones support high-res audio without a wire
"Sennheiser has announced a new pair of headphones that support high-res audio through a wired or wireless connection, even if your smartphone doesn't support the latest Bluetooth codecs. The HDB 630 looks similar to the redesigned Sennheiser Momentum 4 that launched in 2022 because both headphones are built on the same chassis, but Sennheiser's latest features a new "customized acoustic system built for focused listening" plus conveniences like active noise cancellation and stellar battery life."
"The HDB 630 supports high-res audio with a resolution up to 24-bit/96 kHz when connected to a source with a USB-C or 3.5mm audio cable. The headphones also support high-res wireless audio streaming using the Bluetooth aptX Adaptive codec. The older Momentum 4 supported the aptX Adaptive codec, too, but three years later only a handful of smartphones support it. Sennheiser's solution is to bundle a USB-C transmitter dongle with the HDB 360 that brings aptX Adaptive support to phones and tablets lacking native support."
"The HDB 630 are now available for preorder through Sennheiser's website for $499.95 and are expected to ship on October 21st, 2025. That's about $150 more than the Momentum 4's launch price of $349.95, although Sennheiser increased the price of those headphones earlier this year to $449.95, potentially making the new HDB 630 a tempting upgrade given the $50 price difference."
Sennheiser released the HDB 630 over-ear headphones with high-resolution playback via wired USB-C or 3.5mm at up to 24-bit/96 kHz and wireless streaming using Bluetooth aptX Adaptive. The model shares the Momentum 4 chassis while adding a customized acoustic system tuned for focused listening, active noise cancellation, and up to 60 hours of battery life with ANC on. Sennheiser bundles a USB-C transmitter dongle to add aptX Adaptive compatibility to devices lacking native support. The headphones include 42-mm drivers, a Smart Control Plus app with a parametric equalizer and quick A/B testing, and preorders ship October 21, 2025.
