Roborock launches its first robot lawn mower in the US
"The Roborock RockMow X1 LiDAR, announced today at CES, will be launching later this year, featuring autonomous navigation, all-wheel drive, and 360-degree 3D scanning using a combination of LiDAR and Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (VSLAM). Like the earlier RockMow Z1, the RockMow X1 LiDAR can handle slopes of up to 80 percent and traverse obstacles up to 3.1 inches high."
"According to Roborock, it can mow up to half an acre (about 2,000 square meters) per day, notably less than the 5,000 square meters the Z1 is capable of. The RockMow X1 LiDAR will face some competition in the US, including from other lawn-mowing bots that also use LiDAR."
Roborock will offer the RockMow X1 LiDAR in the US later this year after expanding into robotic lawn mowers last year. The X1 LiDAR features autonomous navigation, all-wheel drive, and 360-degree 3D scanning that combines LiDAR and Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (VSLAM). The mower can handle slopes up to 80 percent and traverse obstacles up to 3.1 inches high. Daily mowing capacity is up to half an acre (about 2,000 square meters), which is smaller than the RockMow Z1’s 5,000 square meter capability. The X1 LiDAR will compete with other LiDAR-equipped lawn-mowing robots in the US market.
