Realme Neo8 specs leak, new SoC included
"The Realme Neo7 made its debut in December of last year, and so you may be wondering what happened to its successor. Fret not, for the Neo8 is on the way, according to a new rumor out of China. While it's still unclear when it will arrive, when it does it will sport an 8,000 mAh battery, upping the ante from its predecessor's 7,000 mAh cell. The Realme Neo8 is allegedly powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC."
"Compared to the Neo7, we get an entirely new chipset (from a different maker too, the Neo7 used the Dimensity 9300+), the bigger battery we already mentioned, and an improved fingerprint scanner (ultrasonic vs. optical). The Neo8 should also feature very high dust and water resistance, though whether it will leapfrog its predecessor's IP68 and IP69 ratings (adding an IP69K, perhaps?) remains to be seen."
Realme Neo8 is positioned as the successor to the Neo7 and introduces several hardware upgrades. The device increases battery capacity to 8,000 mAh from the Neo7's 7,000 mAh. The Neo8 adopts the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, replacing the Neo7's Dimensity 9300+. The chassis combines a metal frame with glass front and back and includes an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner rather than an optical sensor. The phone targets very high dust and water resistance and could exceed prior IP68 and IP69 ratings by adding IP69K. The exact launch date remains unspecified.
