Raspberry Pi is raising prices again as memory shortages continue
"The cost of some parts has more than doubled over the last quarter,"
"As a result, we now need to make further increases to our own pricing, affecting all Raspberry Pi 4 and 5, and Compute Module 4 and 5, products that have 2GB or more of memory."
"2026 looks likely to be another challenging year for memory pricing,"
"the current situation is ultimately a temporary one, and we look forward to unwinding these price increases once it abates."
Raspberry Pi is raising prices again for several single-board computer models after earlier increases. CEO Eben Upton said the cost of some parts more than doubled last quarter, forcing further price rises for Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 and Compute Module 4 and 5 models with 2GB or more memory. December increases ranged from $5 to $25 depending on RAM, with the Compute Module 5 16GB up $20. New increases add $10 for 2GB, $15 for 4GB, $30 for 8GB, and $60 for 16GB. 1GB variants, the Pi 400, Pi 3, Pi Zero, and older products remain unchanged due to existing LPDDR2 inventory. Memory pricing looks challenging in 2026, but the situation is expected to be temporary.
