Qualcomm's upcoming flagship chipset tipped to break AnTuTu record
"Previously known as the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, back in June the SoC was tipped to arrive with a solid 20-30% improvement in single-core Geekbench scores, and 10-15% improvement in multi-core compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Today a new rumor from China says the difference will be much more pronounced in AnTuTu. Earlier today, MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 was said to score 4 million points in AnTuTu, and that will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5's main competitor."
"Qualcomm's SoC, on the other hand, is now rumored to go up to between 4.2 million and 4.4 million. Currently, the AnTuTu chart lists the Red Magic 10 Pro as the highest performing device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, with an average score of 2.67 million. So the increase would be at least 58% in this benchmark, if the rumored scores for the 8 Elite Gen 5 are accurate, of course."
Qualcomm will unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 at its Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii later this month. The SoC, previously referred to as Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, was earlier tipped for 20–30% single-core and 10–15% multi-core Geekbench gains over the Snapdragon 8 Elite. New Chinese rumors claim AnTuTu scores of 4.2–4.4 million, versus MediaTek Dimensity 9500's reported 4 million and the current Snapdragon 8 Elite average of 2.67 million on AnTuTu v10. That would represent roughly a 58% jump versus the existing Elite and a 5–10% lead over the Dimensity 9500, though benchmark version differences may affect direct comparisons. Both next-gen chipsets are expected to debut in upcoming flagship smartphones.
