Qualcomm is launching the Snapdragon C processor for budget Windows laptops aimed at entry-tier pricing starting around $300. The chip is designed for responsive performance, cool and quiet designs, and all-day battery life. It is not intended for heavy 3D rendering or 8K video editing, but it supports smooth web browsing, video streaming, and productivity workloads. The Snapdragon C includes an integrated NPU to provide AI capabilities that are often missing in entry-level laptops. Qualcomm positions the move as enabling Windows manufacturers to build power-efficient systems similar to what Apple achieved with its budget MacBook Neo. Laptops using Snapdragon C are expected to arrive later this year from companies including Acer, HP, and Lenovo.

Laptops using the Snapdragon C are expected to hit shelves "later this year," Qualcomm said, from manufacturers including Acer, HP and Lenovo. If they perform as Qualcomm boasts and come near that $300 price point, those products could make a big impact in the entry-level laptop market."
