Poco M8 Pro review
"We won't blame you if you are having a déjà vu. This new Poco is a repackaged Redmi Note 15 Pro+ with a different main camera. While the 15 Pro+ has a 200 MP OIS primary, the Poco M8 Pro lifts its main imager from the Poco F8 Pro - a 50MP OIS camera. The 8MP ultrawide and the 32MP selfie cameras are the same as on the Redmi."
"Nevermind the resemblance to the Redmi series, the Poco M8 Pro brings enough improvements over the Poco M7 Pro to be called a proper upgrade - better ingress protection, a larger and higher-resolution screen, more powerful hardware, better cameras, and, of course, a beefier battery with faster charging. It even supports 22.5W reverse wired charging! It's just that we are not sure if we really needed more Redmi Note 15 offspring - there are plenty as is."
"Body: 163.3x78.3x8.2mm, 207g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus 2), fiber-reinforced plastic back or silicone polymer back (eco leather); IP68 rated for dust-tightness and water-resistance in the EU; IP69K rated in the rest of the world. Display: 6.83" AMOLED, 68B colors, 120Hz, 3840Hz PWM, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 3200 nits (peak), 1280x2772px resolution, 19.49:9 aspect ratio, 447ppi. Chipset: Qualcomm SM7635-AC Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 (4 nm): Octa-core (1x2.7 GHz Cortex-A720 & 3x2.4 GHz Cortex-A720 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A520); Adreno 810."
The Poco M8 Pro targets the mid-range segment with a large 6,500mAh battery supporting 100W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. The phone sports a 6.83-inch 1,280p AMOLED with 12-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, and up to 3,200 nits peak brightness. The device runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with 5G and Wi‑Fi 6E. Camera hardware includes a 50MP OIS main sensor (from the Poco F8 Pro), an 8MP ultrawide, and a 32MP selfie. The handset offers robust ingress protection (IP66/IP68 in Europe; IP69/IP69K elsewhere) and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front.
