Orange's Message Satellite service enables customers in mainland France to send and receive SMS messages and share geolocation via satellite when mobile or Wi-Fi coverage is unavailable. The service will be available to the general public from 11 December 2025 and to professional and corporate customers during 2026, through a partnership with non-terrestrial network operator Skylo. The offer targets Orange 5G and 5G+ customers and will initially be exclusive to Google Pixel 9 and 10 handsets, with later expansion of services and compatible devices. The service uses direct-to-device technology and a dedicated SMS interface to connect smartphones to satellites and Orange's core mobile network, addressing outdoor, travel, emergency, logistics and isolated-operation use cases while reinforcing Orange's multi-modal connectivity strategy.
