"The OnePlus 15 is rumored to be launching next month, and it was said to feature a 165Hz screen refresh rate. Today, Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, has basically confirmed this in a post on Weibo. He welcomes Apple to the high refresh rate era (as the Cupertino company finally ensured all of its iPhones have 120Hz refresh rate, including the vanilla model), calling high refresh rates one of the most important improvements in the mobile phone user experience in the past ten years."
"Then, he goes on to say that OnePlus 'will once again lead the industry' in this regard. So clearly, a higher than the usual 120Hz refresh rate is coming, and naturally it should be available on the flagship device first, which is going to be the OnePlus 15 (14 will be skipped due to tetraphobia in some parts of Asia)."
OnePlus plans to launch the OnePlus 15 next month with a 165Hz screen refresh rate confirmed by Li Jie, President of OnePlus China. Li frames high refresh rates as one of the most important mobile user-experience improvements in the past decade and welcomes Apple to the high-refresh era after Apple adopted 120Hz across iPhones. OnePlus states it will once again lead the industry, placing the higher-than-120Hz panel on the OnePlus 15 (skipping the 14 name due to tetraphobia in some Asian markets). Competitors are expected to follow, though the jump from 120Hz to 165Hz may yield limited perceptible gains.
