OnePlus 16 might have the highest refresh rate ever
"The OnePlus 15 just launched in late October, but we're already hearing the second rumor about its successor in the past few days. First, the OnePlus 16 was said to be getting a 200MP camera sensor, and now there's some interesting news about its screen too. OnePlus has allegedly started testing a display with a refresh rate of at least 200Hz for its next flagship smartphone."
"Still, even if it's "just" 200Hz it would still be the highest refresh rate display ever put in a smartphone. Of course the usual caveat applies - how many games will actually use it, that is. And there's also the question of whether you will be able to set any app to go all the way up to the maximum. If so, then this will be a very welcome development, especially since with the new Si/C batteries and their increased capacities, the battery drain overhead probably won't be felt."
OnePlus has allegedly started testing a smartphone display with a refresh rate of at least 200Hz for its next flagship, though the exact maximum is unclear and 240Hz remains a possibility. A 200Hz panel would be the highest refresh rate ever used in a smartphone if implemented. Real-world benefits depend on how many games and apps can utilize the higher rate and whether users can set apps to reach the maximum. New Si/C batteries and increased capacities could reduce the battery drain typically associated with very high refresh rates. The OnePlus 15 launched in late October and the successor was previously linked to a 200MP camera sensor.
