LEGO 'Star Wars' Death Star lights up the Las Vegas Sphere
"The experience celebrates the announcement of LEGO SMART Play, a new technology announced at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) by LEGO, Disney's Chief Brand Officer Asad Ayaz and Lucasfilm's Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni. LEGO SMART Play turns imagination into reality through the LEGO SMART Bricks - interactive pieces that respond to actions from the builder with music, sound effects and lights! The first sets to include the SMART Bricks will be "Star Wars" themed, releasing March 1."
"Among fans who got to feel the thrill of "blowing up" the Death Star was New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, who said, "Tonight, I felt like a kid again, stepping into the giant LEGO X-Wing and lighting up the Las Vegas skyline in honor of my favorite movies. I'm thrilled to be here celebrating the future of LEGO Star Wars.""
"Projected across the 366-foot high Exosphere was the LEGO "Star Wars" Death Star. The Sphere experience brought the interactive nature of LEGO SMART Play to life across 580,00 square feet of the Exosphere, where fans could hop into the cockpit of a LEGO "Star Wars" X-Wing and recreate the trench run scene from "Star Wars: A New Hope.""
Sphere Studios collaborated with LEGO, Disney and Lucasfilm to debut a LEGO "Star Wars"-themed live interactive game on the Exosphere, the world's largest LED screen. The Exosphere projection featured a 366-foot-high LEGO "Star Wars" Death Star and allowed fans to enter a LEGO "Star Wars" X-Wing cockpit to recreate the trench run from "Star Wars: A New Hope." LEGO SMART Play, announced at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), introduces LEGO SMART Bricks that respond to builder actions with music, sound effects and lights. The first SMART Brick sets are "Star Wars"-themed and release March 1. SMART Play represents one of LEGO's most significant innovations since the 1978 LEGO minifigure.
