Honor Magic8 Mini to be very thin while still packing a big battery
"Let's start with the battery capacity. It's going to be 5,500 mAh in the end, which is less than the 6,000 mAh cell initially rumored. But there's a reason - Honor decided to make the phone under 7mm thick, and the company may even be pushing for under 6mm thickness. Obviously, that comes with a battery capacity related tradeoff, but even so, it's going to be 10% bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's, for example."
"Today, the same source (the prolific Digital Chat Station on Weibo) is back with some new details. The Magic8 Mini will allegedly have a 6.31-inch LTPO flat OLED screen with "1.5K" resolution, a 200MP main camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera with a 1/1.5" sensor size. The device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC. It's unclear when it's launching, but it definitely feels like the unveiling isn't imminent, so perhaps early next year."
Honor's Magic8 Mini will use a 5,500 mAh battery to enable a sub-7mm chassis, with the company potentially targeting under 6mm thickness. The reduced cell size represents a battery capacity trade-off while still yielding about 10% more capacity than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The phone will feature a 6.31-inch LTPO flat OLED panel with "1.5K" resolution. Camera hardware includes a 200MP main sensor and a 50MP telephoto with a 1/1.5" sensor size. Performance will be driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC. The launch date remains unclear, with a possible unveiling in early next year.
