AirDrop and Quick Share are wireless file-sharing features that have been available on iPhones and Androids, respectively. Thanks to an update from Google, the two features can now talk to each other for the first time."

On an iPhone, the request should be received like any other AirDrop interaction that can be accepted or denied. It works the same way the other way around."
AirDrop and Quick Share interoperability enables direct file and photo transfers between iPhone, iPad, macOS and Google Pixel 10 devices. Pixel 10 owners and compatible Apple devices can exchange files after an update that establishes peer-to-peer connections so data is not routed through a server. Apple devices must be set to be discoverable by everyone for Pixel 10 Quick Share to find them, and transfer requests on iPhone appear as standard AirDrop interactions that can be accepted or denied. Google designed the feature with security in mind and plans to expand compatibility to more Android devices. The change follows Apple adopting RCS in 2024, improving cross-platform messaging.
