Google will make Android's Quick Share work with iPhones
"A teardown of the latest Google Play Services beta app has revealed this fact, actually confirming an initial report from almost a year ago. Clearly then, it's taking some time, but it's still coming. And when the functionality does arrive, here's a screen you'll see on your Android smartphone when attempting to share something with an iPhone while not being signed into your Google account:"
"So, interestingly, it seems like you'll need to be signed in to use Quick Share to send something from an Android phone to an iPhone, even if the same requirement doesn't exist if you Quick Share to another Android device. It's unclear why the discrepancy exists, perhaps you'll need to use a Google account on the iPhone in order for Quick Share to work (presumably through the Google app)? This is all speculation at this point, however."
Google and Samsung’s unified Quick Share for Android is being developed to support sharing with iPhones. A teardown of the latest Google Play Services beta confirms prior reports and indicates cross-platform functionality is in progress. Android devices may require the sender to be signed into a Google account when sharing to an iPhone, unlike Android-to-Android sharing which does not require sign-in. The reason for the sign-in discrepancy is unclear and may involve needing a Google account or the Google app on the iPhone. The feature is part-integrated into the beta and could be approaching public release.
