Google reveals how many devices are already running Android 16

Google released Android 16 in June 2025 for the Pixel lineup, and many other manufacturers have issued updates since. Data from December 1, 2025 shows 7.5% of all active Android devices run Android 16. Android 15 leads adoption at 19.3%, followed by Android 14 at 17.2% and Android 13 at 13.9%. Android 16 ranks seventh, trailing Android 11, 12, and 10. The open, diverse Android ecosystem with dozens of companies and hundreds of device models complicates and slows update rollout compared with iOS. Android 16 adoption is expected to increase in coming months.
