Gemini has begun a global rollout on Android Auto, replacing Google Assistant and integrating directly into vehicle dashboards. The assistant supports natural, conversational interactions and can handle complex queries, multi-turn conversations, message and email retrieval, and navigation edits such as adding stops without manual dashboard input. Google highlights multiple activation methods and five primary capabilities, including local stop recommendations enhanced by Maps data, real-review insights, and answers to business FAQs. The voice assistant aims to let users speak naturally like a passenger, reducing the need to craft precise queries and improving in-car task efficiency and safety.
