Expired certificate completely breaks macOS Logitech apps, user customizations
"The certificate that expired is used to secure inter-process communications and the expiration results in the software not being able to start successfully,"
"We dropped the ball here,"
"This is an inexcusable mistake. We're extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused."
Logi Options+ and G Hub apps on macOS abruptly stopped launching and reverted all accessory settings to their built-in defaults after a security certificate expired. The expired certificate secured inter-process communications and prevented the software from starting. Logitech acknowledged the error and apologized, calling the mistake inexcusable. Patches with updated certificates are already available, but the apps' built-in updaters were disabled by the expiration, preventing automatic updates. Users must manually download and install the patches or updated app versions, and each app requires a separate patch to restore functionality and custom accessory configurations.
