End of Windows 10 = the end of early Surface Hub hardware
"While the initial focus is often on personal devices like laptops and desktops, there are many other endpoints that need consideration. One key example is the Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) on a Windows 10 device."
"Surface Hub v1 devices will no longer be supported. It's recommended to upgrade to a newer Surface Hub device."
"There are an estimated one million active MTRs worldwide, spanning both Windows and Android systems, but a significant proportion of the Windows-based units will not be upgradeable to Windows 11 due to hardware limitations."
Windows 10 Team edition support ends on October 14, causing Surface Hub v1 and many Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) Windows devices to lose official support. Surface Hub v1 cannot be upgraded to Windows 11 or receive a compute cartridge, while Surface Hub 2S can be upgraded. The Microsoft Teams Rooms app based on classic Teams and the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal will stop supporting Windows 10. Hardware will continue to function but will stop receiving patches. An estimated one million active MTRs exist worldwide, and many Windows-based units are not upgradeable, complicating fleet remediation across multiple owners.
