Wexford set to pull out all the stops for FTD brothers running 32 marathons in 32 days
Jordan and Cian Adams, known as the FTD Brothers, are completing 32 marathons in 32 counties over 32 days to raise awareness and funds for dementia support and research. They plan to visit every county in Ireland, focusing on early-onset frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The challenge is dedicated to their late Irish mother Geraldine, who died from the disease at age 52, and to other Irish relatives lost to FTD. Both brothers have inherited the condition and are likely to become symptomatic in their early 40s. They began April 27 and will finish May 28. Wexford Town welcomes them on May 22 for Day 26 at St. Mary’s Maudlintown GAA complex. They have raised over €1m through a fundraising page supporting the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and the FTD Brothers Foundation.
"People in Wexford will pull out all the stops for the arrival of two brothers from the UK who are completing 32 marathons in 32 counties over 32 days, to raise awareness and funds for dementia support and research."
"Jordan and Cian Adams, known as the FTD Brothers, are from Worcestershire. They plan to visit every county in Ireland to raise awareness and funds for early-onset frontotemporal dementia (FTD). They are taking on the challenge in honour of their late Irish mother Geraldine, who died from the disease aged 52, and the other 11 Irish relatives they lost to the disease, including an aunt and their grandmother."
"Tragically, Jordan and Cian have inherited the same condition and are likely to become symptomatic in their early 40s. They began on April 27 and intend to finish their 32-day challenge on May 28."
"The FTD Brothers have set up a fundraising page in support of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, and of their non-profit, FTD Brothers Foundation. More than €1m has already been raised."
